Last month, we explored how Creation is LOVE in Action.
From a young age, I have been fortunate to know how to follow this love, simply because, for me, there is no other way than to follow the drive to create—to express, to make visible, to translate, to share, to listen, and to follow.
Recently, my grandfather—my mother’s father—has been showing up for me. He had a specific bird call that he used every morning as he fed his ducks.
My grandfather was deaf, and now, I hear him as I hear the bird’s call. He worked as an engineer and became well known in postwar Netherlands after developing an architectural dome for churches. His design created the best acoustic effect with the least effort, allowing choirs and preachers to be heard far and beyond.
Yet, he could not hear it himself as I hear it today.
And then there is my dear friend, Margareth, whose father was born deaf but became one of the most respected composers in the Netherlands. How did he listen to his own music?
He felt it—through his hands, through his body.
We don’t need just our hearing to truly listen.
The Power of Deep Listening
Deep listening can be developed through many practices of presence—being fully here, in the totality of our being. It invites us to activate all four bodies: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, and to cultivate awareness through all our senses.
At our core, we are energetic beings, part of a multidimensional existence.
In the embodied practices of our WellWork offerings, we explore ways to strengthen our connection to what we are part of and how we can cultivate our gifts to benefit all of life.
Expression is the Opposite of Depression
By expressing what lives in our hearts, we weave the worlds together.By sharing, we open the opportunity to receive our common dreams and come together.
March Offerings at WellWork
This March, WellWork is offering a range of creative workshops designed with profound intention—to help cultivate a deeper connection between your inner and outer worlds.
Through the growing field of our WellWork community, it has been both beautiful and exhilarating to offer these experiences.
It is all a process. I am forever grateful for the teachings of the Wheel of the Four Directions, which guide me in navigating my inner and outer world. Every time I work with this wheel, it works with me. I would love to share these tools with you.
Perhaps this is the essence of understanding—expanding love in reciprocal ways.
And maybe that is what wakes me up every morning—the innate celebration of being born again and again.
